Juanita Brown(ファニータ・ブラウン)氏とDavid Isaacs(デイビッド・アイザックス)氏によって、1995年に開発・提唱されました。

【A.N.Y Talks
一つは「Any- 」。

OUT OF THE BLUE

2012-2019 stop motion installation
In various places in the world Martina Kändler observed the color of the sky during the time of dusk: Munich Germany, Kristinestad Finland, Melbourne Australia, Hong Kong, New York USA and Tokyo Japan. Over the past seven years she took photographs in the different areas for several months from the beginning of the twilight to the nightfall, at an interval of one minute. The data and location were documented. This investigation will be continued and extended in other countries and landscapes with different climatic conditions. Following her observation, she developed the installation “out of the blue”. The images are projected in a large scale so that the different shades of blue, from sunlight to darkness can be experienced again and again within just a few seconds and the spectators can immerse themselves in the color of the sky.

HIDE AND SEEK

2014 videoloop
This video shows lights in different colors, changing in speed and size. Through these two parameters we are able to identify their location in space, even though the spacial surrounding is in the dark.
For this video Martina Kändler let dogs with blinking collars and brightly lit toys frolic around in a meadow at night. The colorful traces in the dark make the movements of the dogs and the game visible, the size and speed of the objects locate them in space.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Social processes, growth and decay, projection and delusion, volumes and limitations, illusion and real space, subjective perception and alleged objectivity are the starting points of Martina Kändlers artistic exploration. In the contrast between an experimental process and conceptual thinking, strict compositional structure and emotional impact, manual work with the material and manifestations of the ephemeral arise idea, project and realization.

Architectural volumes are given new rhythms by translucent walls of laser light. Kinetic light objects create diverse worlds in small boxes, which can be experienced through light, sound and movement. Observations of moving lights, which can be localized by size and direction in space, are abstracted in video works. Experiments with paper and, in the latest work, metallic surfaces in the architectural model lead to new photographic series under the changing influence of light, while gold leaf aims at a transformation of the object. Long-term photographic documentations focus on different aspects of atmospheric color change, space, nesting and transparency.

Mireya Samper Video Screening ‘ floating infinity ‘

*******DUE TO HUGE TYPHON COMING THE SCREENING HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED FOR 16TH OCTOBER!!!******

We will have a video screening of Mireya Samper ‘ floating infinity ‘
X 10.12(Sat) 17:00-18:00
O 10.16(Wed) 19:00 – 22:00
from 19:30, we will have art discussion event ‘Artist Meetup’
https://www.facebook.com/events/945525872460524/

Mireya Samper from Iceland graduated with DNSEP (Diplome National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique) from Ecole d’Art de Luminy  Marseille, France 1993 after she studied at the Icelandic College of Art and Crafts. She has held solo shows and participated in group exhibitions across the world. Her work supersedes the identity as sculptor or painter working parallel in two and three dimensions for museums or in-situ. As a creator of installations she has participated in many projects of Artist-in-residence where she creates site-specific works using local and regional produced materials in each country. In Japan she made artworks linked to environmental issues using its nature. Furthermore her drawings and paintings represent Japanese ink, and pigments on Japanese paper.

With ease she creates poetical minimal works that are either ephemeral or carved in stone. Pulling together prima matera into concepts of time and space her oeuvres create connections between the natural elements of water, light, wind, stone and consciousness.
ARTISTS STATEMENT
My works are poetic images of the circle of life, and internal and external cosmologies where water and light, metaphors for infinity and repetition, coalesce. I use water as a metaphor in its ephemeral forms as a drop in suspension or floating, shaped and made in stone or other materials. The drop symbolises both water and light with the duality of circularity: the source of water and its pluvial, as well as time and eternity.
Light, its reflections and allusions are symbols of our inner self and of the higher values of peace, eternity and universality.
Eternity unfolds the universe. My work encourages people to reflect and connect with their inner selves, to the “external worlds” and to the cosmos.
Emptiness is Fullness – floating infinity – Video Installation by Mireya Samper
2017, 90m2, bronze, aluminium, video and music by Tomoo Nagai.
“Emptiness is Fullness”, an expression inspired by the philosopher Francois Cheng.
Emptiness is Fullness is a type of a double video installation in a 90m2 room made in Japan in 2017. It is a video which is a 24 hour time-lapse composed in a natural space in Lithuania of a site specific installation which has been trimmed down to 8 minutes — referring to infinity. The piece is then projected on a wall which is 4×6 meters. Between that wall and the projector is another installation made of bronze and aluminium as well as specially composed music piece by the musician Tomoo Nagai which infuses the room. Therefore the objects of the installation and their shadows along with the music play a role when the whole installation is then re-filmed creating the outcome of this 8.12 minute video.

Post-cards are souvenirs, at least the were meant to be.
They illustrated memories of visited places and represented the wish to share moments in life with someone abroad. Sending a postcard was a gesture, it aimed to connect lives over great distances.
Once received, and as time goes by, boxes full of postcards got lost or simply got thrown out. Separated from the receiver the cards lost its meaning, and the connection between two people, that it once represented faded away to become “ein Geist (a spirit/ghost)” that still inhabits the object somehow.
Picking up those postcards, Shingo Yoshida and Christoph Rothmeier will try to haunt spirits that inhabit them. They will reconstruct the cards journeys and lead an artistic investigation on their “Geister” with all their possible pasts, to establish connections anew, but in form of an exhibition. For the Project “Geister heimsuchen”
Shingo Yoshida and Christoph Rothmeier cooperate for the first time, to investigate in found Postcards and the eld of socio- cultural phenomena that inhabits them.
Their research will depart from images and information shown on backdated postcards,
and they will investigate places that are shown, people that are mentioned and the Stories that are written on them.

„Photographer and video artist Shingo Yoshida finds inspiration in travelling, myths, traditions and the overwhelming beauty of nature. Yoshida considers the world as his studio and therefore a place of constant creation. In his video and photographic works Yoshida expresses his deep reverence for nature and its power, as well as his sense of wonder at encountering new cultures and ways of living. Shot in Calama, Chile, Shingo Yoshida’s film Réprouvé takes us through a garbage-strewn wasteland at the edge of the city, where the artist creates an oasis of beauty, turning discarded bear bott- les into a sound installation. In an exhibition about water, Réprouvé is striking for its very absence of water. Creating beauty in the most unlikely of places, it is nevertheless a frightening glimpse of what our planet may soon look like if we do not take better care of our most necessary natural resource – water.

一つは「Any- 」。

Juanita Brown(ファニータ・ブラウン)氏とDavid Isaacs(デイビッド・アイザックス)氏によって、1995年に開発・提唱されました。

Artists Meetup

About 2 years ago, when I went to an international exchange meet-up, I met a foreign traveler there, and once we figured that both are artists, we talked about our artworks and how we do it in each country. It was fun and we had a quite good time.

He said “I’m traveling for a while in Japan, but you are the first artist I have met!”There are thousands of international exchange events in Tokyo every day now, but there is hardly any kind of informal and open exchange meetup for the people in the art community. Some artists get together, drink, mingle, that’s it. I hope that this meetup will be a good chance that connects any creative people internationally.

※Admission free.  Please bring your own snacks and drinks.
