On 4 November 2021 art collective World Dirt Association held the performance “Soilstory: Returning” at the Suzu Theatre Museum. This live event linked soil stories in Suzu, Singapore and France in both real and virtual spaces simultaneously based on a contemporary reconstruction of the traditional domestic agricultural ritual known as “Ae no Koto” in Oku Noto. This closing performance “returns” the spirits that resided inside of the exhibition throughout the triennial period, so the spirits would be re-united with water, wind and fire until next year.
