この展示に来たあなたは、堤防の上でお花見をしながら流しそうめんを食べることができます。
（流しそうめんと共に流すことができる食材の持ち込みを、会期中常時歓迎しています。）
本展示では、下大沢駿による流しそうめん型インスタレーションが展開されます。
合理性に基づき人工的に作られた町は、そこに住む人々を過去から断絶し作為的に作られた自然を日常化します。
下大沢は、彼自身が思春期から暮らすニュータウンと正対することを起点として、合理性からの脱却、および、継承されなかった過去との接続の方法を、人の作為と自然の関係から模索する制作を行っています。
今回、下大沢は江戸川区小松川という地域一帯をリサーチし制作を行いました。
荒川沿いに位置する小松川地域は、平成初期からの再開発によって整備された、スーパー堤防とも呼ばれる高規格堤防整備事業のモデルケースと言える地域です。
その堤防上には、偶然にも下大沢の生まれと同じ年に植樹されたという1000本もの桜の木が並び、春には満開の花を咲かせています。
再開発によって戸建住宅がすべて集合住宅に変容したこの地域は、今では多くの子育て世代とインド人で、独特の賑わいを見せています。
平成を象徴するこの環境の中で成立したコミュニティには、どのような未来が待っているのでしょうか。
本展示は、下大沢によって再構築された、街路樹とスーパー堤防のもとで、流しそうめんを食すべく集まった人々を通じて、過去を掘り下げるため未来を占う試みです。

If you come to this exhibition, you may eat some flowing “somen” noodles standing on an on-scale river-levee while watching an artificial landscape of cherry blossoms.
(It would be appreciated if you could bring some food and let it flow!).
In this occasion, Shun Shimoosawa presents its exhibition “flowing somen installation”.
A town artificially developed that becomes a natural landscape for the people that live there.
Shimoosawa makes artworks in order to seek out how to connect with the past that was not inherited since he has lived in Chiba area’s modern “New Town” city since adolescence.
This time, Shimoosawa the artwork is based on a research of the Komatsugawa area in Tokyo.
This area, located along the Arakawa River, is a model case of a high standard levee project, also called “super levee”, developed in the 90’s.
On the levee, there are 1000 cherry blossom trees planted in the same year as the birth of Shimoosawa, and the blossoms are in full bloom every spring.
In this area, all single-family homes have been replaced by collective housing, and have a distinctive population of young Japanese families and Indian immigrants.
What will be the future of these communities?
This exhibition is an attempt to put the focus in the future by digging into the past. For this reasons we invite people to gather and to eat flowing “somen” noodles in the ” Roadside Trees and a Super Levee” recreated by Shimoosawa.
